we spent a week in the lovely Sangre de Cristo mountains recently and enjoyed every minute (except the minutes between midnight and 5am one morning when we were visited by a bear). all four of us soaked up mother nature and each other. it was truly wonderful. we hiked and hiked and hiked (more pictures to come).
it was ripley's first time to camp and he is very much a happy camper. he never left our camp and was super excited about the hiking.
after 4 days in the mountains and we were all in need of showers, we headed into Santa Fe and stayed at our favorite b&b which is just a couple of "Santa Fe blocks" from the plaza. ripley was quite a hit on the streets. lots and lots of photos were taken of him and with him. he was also welcomed onto many restaurant patios, as are all well-behaved and friendly dogs. the wait staff brought him out water and enjoyed petting him and talking to him. it was very civilized!
we have been to this part of New Mexico 8 times and avery enjoyed checking out some of his favorite places. he was also our dog sitter during tobin and i's evening out to celebrate our 15th anniversary. we had so much fun and all came home renewed!
