we have been covered in snow. it started on monday evening as a thunderstorm! that's right...thunder, lightning, and icey-rain. it quickly turned to dip n dots (that's what we call it) and then, once we woke up, it turned into a blizzard. giant, fast flakes and big, gusty wind.
all of this resulted in many inches of snow and amazing snow drifts.
because snow is unusual for us, the state kinda shuts down. EVERYTHING shuts down. school cancelled, the university cancelled (my employer), many restaurants, stores, activities of all kinds, cancelled.
we have been having a blast with the time off. we were sure to go to the grocery well before the storm hit and stocked up on food stuff and fun stuff.
luckily, we scored a sled last winter at my parents' local hardware store. tobin, avery, and ripley headed out on tuesday to scope out a good sledding hill. one was found at the duck pond on campus. lots of sledding and playing.
unfortunately it is SO cold, so outside time is brief.
it is thursday and i am still okay with the white stuff, we'll see how i feel if the cancellations continue on into tomorrow....
