our very sweet and awesome guinea pig, cynthia summers, died this morning in my arms. our hearts are very heavy. she was a huge presence in our lives and will be missed so much. she loved to hang out with us...she watched movies, helped us work on the computer, liked our other pets, and jingled her bell when she needed veggies, hay, or just a tender pet or nuzzle from us. of all of our guinea pigs, she was the coolest. we don't know what happened. she seemed fine yesterday. avery fed her some lettuce this morning and i noticed she had not come out of her hut to eat it a bit later...very unusual. i moved her hut and she kind of staggered around. i grabbed her up and she was very bloated and totally not like herself. i sat down with her, totally confused and scared. as we sat there she nuzzled into the crook of my arm and very calmly took her final breaths. i can't tell you how thankful i am that i just happened to check on her and was able to pet and love on her in her final moments. we all loved her so much and are in shock. tobin prepared her final resting spot in the garden under my goddess statue. death is so hard.
cynthia and i enjoying photo booth.
