just a few days before i took this pic, i was telling avery about these ready-to-eat packs of food my dad would take "to the field" while in the army. sometimes, if he had any leftover, he would bring them home to us. we thought they were so amazing! i don't remember thinking they tasted amazing (if i even tasted them), but just think...you're hungry for, in this case, a vegetarian meal, but you are miles from a restaurant, kitchen, or heck, an ice chest...no problem. just open up they ecru colored pouch labeled, "vegetarian" and there you have it.

i felt like an astronaut when he would hand these beauts over to us.

while perusing the local flea market recently i happened upon quite a selection of these and right after telling avery about them, to boot! i sure didn't want to purchase one (they rightly belong to the feds!) and no way would i eat one, but i was so excited to see them.
