like this moth, i have been hiding out...from the world of the blog, that is. not for any good reason, mind you...i have no excuses. (p.s. this moth is some kind of sphinx...any ideas on specifics???)
this past summer proved to be quite a challenge. as most of you know, we lost our very dear dog, jonah. tears are pricking my eyes even as i type this. he meant so much to our family. he was my first roommate, our first "child", avery's first friend, such a wonderful companion his whole life. dealing with the pain his loss has left behind has been very difficult. i have worked very hard on trying to focus on my memories of his good times, but find i get interrupted with the heartache.
but...we have invited another four legged being into our lives and he brings us great joy...meet ripley!
he is 17 weeks today and has brought back that dog energy that we love. it has been crazy to revisit the puppy stage of owning a dog. i have forgotten so much about this crazy stage. his teeth itch and therefore he NEEDS to gnaw on everything.
luckily he does pretty well with this and chews on appropriate items. sometimes our hands get caught and it feels like tiny razors. we will be happy when the teething is over!
our old cat, loki, is not at all pleased with him. she gives him her best stink eye and he does not mess with her.
artemis, however, is his buddy. she messes with him, he messes with her...it is a riot! i do think she gets miffed at him, however...i'm serious about those tiny teeth feeling like razors!
check out some of their antics below and stay tuned for more posts. now that i am back in the saddle, it doesn't hurt so much! :)
