our very good friends, christa and luke, are having a baby in late october. we have known these two for a long time. avery used to call christa "twista" and luke "yute". we are looking forward to the little boy that will probably call us variations of our names.
when i had avery, i did not have a baby shower...not sure why...could have been that my best friend was in the same state as i was and her focus was just as mine...grow a baby. so when i found out that christa was pregnant, i knew then that i wanted to be a part of celebrating the shower for her. we decided to have it at my house, but when we got together to plan a few things, we both agreed that we did not want to have a "traditional" baby shower. she shies away from the thought of baby shower games...diapering a water balloon, etc. and i am right there with her. so, we decided to have a party of sorts with both boys and girls and no baby games.
we opened gifts outside...it was beautiful weather for the last sunday of august in oklahoma. they got a lot of great stuff...and a ton of diapers (funny...all from those of us that have experienced parenthood!)
a cake was ordered from la baguette, a french bakery, for those celebrating the upcoming birth of max levon...and it was delicious!
here are the two parents to be...christa looking fabulous in her beautiful dress that her mother made for her. it was so incredible how it fit like a glove. and the proud papa-to-be couldn't be more thrilled about this little boy that is soon to be camped out in his arms.
and finally...our friend randy...my designated "cake cutter"...he is a very precise cake cutter...thanks randy!

I am in absolute tears (Tears of joy) at how cute Christa and Luke look. They are going to have so much fun with Max. I can hardly wait for the end of October to get here!
