a bit of the holiday craftiness...revealed!

now that the holidays are well over, i am finally getting around to posting some pics of the gifts i made this year.
the first pic is a poem avery put together with the magnets i made.  i love refrigerator poetry and always think i should buy some, but then, when i was shopping for transfer paper (for avery's gift projects) i saw that you can buy magnetic printable paper!  i typed up as many words as i could think of and printed them onto the magnetic paper, covered them with clear contact paper, cut them out, and there you have it....magnetic poetry!
next is a pic of a felt ball i made for my nephew.  it is very squishy, grabbable, and washable.  he is a country baby...his parents live on and run a ranch...john deere is close to their hearts, which explains my color choice.  i also made a felt ball for sabina (kerri's babe) which was lime green and hot pink.  i also made sabina's big sister, ruth, a table cloth, place mats, napkins, and a "cooking with ruth" cookbook (she got a kitchen for christmas and is really into cooking).  i failed to document these crafts before i mailed them off to nc.  :(  but if she posts pics of the girls with their gifts on their gallery site, i will pull them and put them here.
finally, the calendar.  i got this idea from my friend, jennifer.  her friend, jodi, gave her a calendar she picked up from an artist in ny city last year.  it is smaller and i believe each pic relates...a theme of sorts.  jennifer, feeling crafty, began a 2009 version.  i was incredibly inspired and got busy myself.
each month has a different drawing and quote.  i have written the author of each quote at the bottom of the page.
i had so much fun with these gifts.  i have been thinking about doing another calendar for 2010.  i might try to start this month...a page a month!  we'll see...

Love my calendar! Miss crafting with you! We could generate some ideas back in the day...could have had our own business maybe. Not like we had anything else to do back then.
