avery said goodbye

to his long hair.  it has been much longer before, but still it was quite long.  

he gets his hair trimmed every six weeks or so and is always very strict about it just being a trim.

so yesterday, no different.  

matt (hair stylist): "so what are we doing today?" just as he does every time even though avery always says, "trim".   

avery: "a SMALL trim" and matt laughs and i laugh and avery does not laugh.  

so, off for the shampoo.  i cannot see them or hear them, until i hear matt cackle and wonder what was so funny.  

out they come and as matt is combing avery's hair he says, "so, while i was shampooing avery's hair he had a crazy idea." 

me: "really, what's that?" 

matt: "he would like me to cut his hair short enough to spike."

me: "WHAT?!"

avery: "yep!"

me: "are you sure?"

avery: "yes.  i am sure."

me: "okay...it's just hair...go for it."
