fur elise

fur elise is such a wonderful, peaceful, sometime tear wrenching song. avery has been working on it for a long time. today was his day to perform for all of lily wong's studio. with only three of us (even with the menagerie) our house is rather quiet...add percussion practice and piano...it is another world. i usually have avery practice piano while i cook...selfish reasons, i must admit...who doesn't want their own personal concert while working?? the percussion, however, i try to encourage he do in his room (except for the absolutely lovely sound of the bells, which i could listen to all day)....door shut. that doesn't always happen...he has a lot of, "mom, did you like that run better, or the one before?" or "tell me which piece you think i am focusing on...ready?" or "what sounds different between these two?" or "which sounds better, i am altering it by a note?" i could list a million more sweet needs my boy has of me and my response to his music, but i think you get the idea. i love that he loves music and couldn't imagine not being surrounded by music much of my day.
